I was the Senior Product Designer at YouTech, working to bridge the gap between retailers and their shoppers. In my 6 years at with the company, I led design on its flagship product—The YouTech Coupon Platform. Thanks to my talented teammates, we were able to build the platform from the ground up—from an internal administrative tool to the largest retail engagement platform—with over 15 Billion coupon downloads and serving 100 Million+ shoppers.

Overview
YouTech’s platform was the first all-in-one retail engagement tool for retailers. Users can create and edit a coupon, track when shoppers load it to their cards, then load it at point-of-sale when they make a purchase. The platform also provided a tool for forecasting and budgeting, personalized shopper targeting, and an embedded reporting to ensure the success of future campaigns. And finally, we also created a customer care module that provided shoppers with solutions should problems arise.

PRODUCT FEATURES
Offers
The Offers tab provided a bird’s-eye view of all offers created by the customer.
Toolbars contained the most common tasks our users performed — search, recent activity, personalization, upload, and create.
Filters For a useful faceted search, we developed filter categories and filter values that are appropriate, predictable, free of jargon, and prioritized.
Alerts & Messages Files uploaded into the system elicited the proper response through alerts and confirmation messages. A corresponding link took the user to recent activity, where they can view their uploads.
Coupon Creation

2 - Create an Offer Form Designing widgets as part of the form gave users the choice of seeing as much or as as little information as they wished.
Targeting
YouTech provided retailers with target shopper profiles by tracking a coupon when it’s added to a loyalty card, then when it’s redeemed at checkout. To encourage repeat purchase, retailers can simply create a list of shoppers who have previously purchased a product, then engage them through various media.
With YouTech’s platform, users created targeting profiles in two ways: 1 - By uploading a file containing shopper cards with the same targeting dimensions
2 - By creating a shopper profile targeting rule based on shopper behavior, location, shopper attributes or card list.
Shopper Care
YouTech’s platform enabled retailers to provide the best customer care service to their shoppers.
Detailed List Views Shopper Care’s detailed view took the guesswork out of when an offer was clipped, removed, and redeemed on a shopper’s card.
Rewards Dashboard Missing points led tp shopper dissatisfaction. YouTech gave users the ability to adjust customer’s rewards on-the-fly.
Customer View YouTech's platform embedded retailer's site data within a customer view so that the agent and shoppers saw the same information. This view minimized conflict between agent and shopper.
Transactions Customer service agents could view every transaction on a shopper’s card in real-time.

The impact of the platform on the company as a whole has been incredible. In 2019, Inmar, the leader in Retail Intelligence, acquired our 70+ person company for $565 Million.
